Singapore NTU Scholarship Guide (Part 2)
An overview of NTU's Nanyang Scholarship and College Scholarship, including eligibility, benefits, and ongoing conditions.
1. Nanyang Scholarship
The Nanyang Scholarship is NTU's most prestigious undergraduate scholarship. It is awarded to outstanding freshmen pursuing an undergraduate degree. The scholarship recognizes students with excellent academic results, strong leadership potential, and an impressive record of extracurricular involvement. As such, it is important to prepare thoroughly at every stage of the application and interview process.
Please read the information below before submitting your application. If you are shortlisted, make sure you make a strong impression at the scholarship interview.
Requirements:
- Open to students of all nationalities;
- Admission to an NTU undergraduate degree programme;
- A high school diploma or equivalent;
- A strong record of co-curricular or project participation;
- Strong leadership qualities and potential.
Note: For the Biomedical Sciences and Chinese Medicine programme, the scholarship will cover only the first three years of study at NTU.
Scholarship benefits:
The Nanyang Scholarship covers the normal duration of the programme, provided the recipient maintains good academic standing and exemplary conduct.

Full tuition fees after tuition grant.

A living allowance of SGD 6,500 per academic year.

Accommodation allowance of up to SGD 2,000 per academic year.
(Applicable only to scholarship recipients living in NTU residences.)

Overseas programme travel grant of up to SGD 5,000, subject to the terms and conditions stated in the travel grant schedule.

A one-time computer allowance of SGD 1,750.

No bond is attached to the Nanyang Scholarship, except for the three-year bond that applies to all Singapore Permanent Residents and international students under the Ministry of Education Tuition Grant scheme.
Conditions:
- Scholarship recipients may not concurrently hold any other scholarship, bursary, university loan, or award unless approved by the University.
- Scholarship recipients must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 3.5 out of 5.0. Academic performance will be reviewed each semester.
- Scholarship recipients must serve as Student Ambassadors or in any other similar role, representing the University in outreach talks, hosting guests, and related duties when required.
- The scholarship may be withdrawn at any time if the University considers the recipient's progress or conduct unsatisfactory.
- If the scholarship recipient chooses to terminate the scholarship early, repayment will be required.
2. College Scholarship
The College Scholarship is awarded to outstanding freshmen enrolled in full-time undergraduate programmes at NTU.
Requirements: same as above
Note: For the Biomedical Sciences and Chinese Medicine programme, the scholarship will cover only the first three years of study at NTU.
